To all customers currently being served by Edmonson County Water District that live inside of Grayson County. The current Edmonson County Water District Board of Directors, after much discussion and review of the current and upcoming challenges facing ECWD, have decided to offer for sale to Grayson County Water District, the territory they currently serve inside of Grayson County. Grayson County Water Districts Board of Directors has decided to take on this purchase of territory and plans to begin operating this territory on August 1, 2025. This is a projected and planned date that could be adjusted as needed based on the work ahead of both systems and getting prepared for the change in operations.

What does this mean to you as a customer inside this territory? At this time nothing will change. You will still contact ECWD when service is needed and you will still be charged the current ECWD rates. If the August 1st date of operation does not get adjusted, your meter will be read by ECWD at the end of July and that reading will be your start reading for GCWD. At that time, if you have an automatic draft set up with ECWD, that will need to be set up new with GCWD. Please make sure all of your billing and contact information is correct on your account with ECWD as GCWD will be pulling that information directly from the ECWD account and creating a new account in the GCWD billing system. GCWD does not plan to change your account number. You should have the exact same account number when you become active in the GCWD billing system.

When will rates change? For those inside this territory, the current ECWD rates will stay in place until GCWD gets approval from the Public Service Commission to make that rate change. At that point in time, your rates will be changed to the current GCWD rates. You, the customer, will receive notification prior to this change. If you live in this territory currently served by ECWD and have questions, please feel free to call the GCWD office or the ECWD office for assistance. Please see the GCWD website to view a current map, and for current rates, and ways to pay. www.graysonwater.com
